MASTER PROGRAM IN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROFILES

    The Master of the Environmental Management Program was established based on the Mandate Letter of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education No. 376/KPT/I/2017 dated July 4, 2017. Following this letter, the odd semester of the 2017/2018 academic year MEMP started the admission of new students. The Master of Environmental Management Program is still in its early years; hence, the strategic development plan implemented by the MEMP must be fast, accurate, and precise to achieve its goals. Achieving the objectives of the study program will pave the way for the realization of the vision and mission of MEMP, which will also realize the vision and mission of the Postgraduate School and Syiah Kuala University.

   The Master of Environmental Management Program has two areas of interest: Environmental Management and Environmental Pollution. MEMP teaching staff were recruited from various Departments and Fields of Study within Syiah Kuala University and Lecturers from Aceh Environmental Agencies. Currently, MEMP has 6 homebase lecturers and 20 active lecturers, based on the educational background of teaching lecturers in MEMP, namely from the departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine and Fisheries, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Agriculture, Law, and Economics. MEMP currently has 26 lecturers, consisting of 14 professors, 11 head lecturers, and 1 lecturer and other teaching staff. One administrative staff member assists in carrying out the educational function at the MEMP, it is assisted by 1 administrative staff. This supports the running of a quality learning process and is in line with the Vision, Mission and Goals of MEMP. The facilities provided by MEMP are student discussion rooms that can be used to support the independent learning process outside the classroom and become a means of discussion between students and lecturers in the process of writing the final project.

   The graduates of the Master of Environmental Management Program will obtain the title M. Ling (Master of Environment) after completing classes with a total of 54 credits for lectures, research, and master’s exams. MEMP enables students to join the USK Environmental and Natural Resources Research Center (PPLH-SDA) to be able to take part in various Education and Training (DIKLAT) for learning to create environmental documents.
